I just read this and have some questions?

Can someone please places a few samples of what a good landing page should look like?

So is this like setting up pages on squidoo and other free sites for it said "to create a landing page for your Facebook page, which summarizes both what your page is about and what the person stands to gain from engaging with your page."

I thought these types of pages were old school yet this is a new article.

Ok so I am lost a little with portals and landing pages.

I don't do anything with Facebook. There's too many changes that they make to privacy and other functions to make it worthwhile for me to use. It turns out that landing pages are now obsolete due to the Timeline feature. Instead of tabs most corporate pages are using custom apps. You can find some more information on the bottom of this article where you can buy custom apps for a flat or monthly fee.

Same here, my facebook and my wife's facebook are just our families and close friends.

I tried the business routine once, and it was a bust.

What you get really if you try?
Spam....

Seems every so called business page on facebook is loaded with tons of spam, people just commenting with their business.

Check out restaurant pages for instance.

I am getting average 4-5 likes daily to one of my blog but i am failing to turn it into traffic to the website although I post regularly on the page to keep users engage with the site content but still its not helping too much.

If you have facebook page it should be in proper design and adding tabs is greatest way, you can use applications and the bets in is staticHTML. I am using that one and I am satisfied. But it also depend on what type of business is you presenting if it is social media so you can redirect your tabs to different social networking sites like twitter. Linkedin, if it music page well you can add tab for listening to music. the same for different type of business yu have to think of it. but landing pages are very important.
