tweetergetter asks for my password ???

    That stopped me right there.

I guess I could change it right after it is setup, but then what happens?

Just think it is wrong to put a password for one site into another. Good way to get your account hacked.

    Anyone have problems or thoughts?

It needs it to use the API - same with quite a lot of twitter-related Web sites.

TweeterGetter is a pretty good way to promote. I got about 70 followers from it total when I promoted it a few weeks back.

If you REALLY want some followers, try out my service
