I have never been to twitter, I have no idea how twitter does promoting wise, but wouldn't advertising your forum's twitter page would be any different from posting your forum's link. I bet it is a good way to promote but I feel that for me, it wouldn't work.

I feel the same. I have never got any results from Twitter.

Who actually reads all of their tweets?

Twitter's alright in my terms. It's only great if you have followers and the followers are actually interested in what you're tweeting.

Catchy phrases always contribute to better turnouts though... So keep in mind when you're tweeting how people are going to interpret the message.

I enjoy using Twitter and because I've built up some followers I can quickly drive quite a few visitors to a thread on my forum, just be tweeting a link to it. However, my experience is that these visitors don't join or participate in the discussions.

BTW I've started following you on Twitter MadDogzEnglish.

I Tweet every so often, and it normally generates about 10-15 guests, sometimes even more. It has only gotton me two new members, but it has increased the most users ever online record.

There is things you can sign up to to get loads of people to sign up to your account, which means you can then advertise, and as you say boost your activity.

Hmm, I've never heard of that, could you say more about it? Is there a page or something to go into more detail about it?
