Thread: Twitter Applications?

    Twitter Applications?

    Hey guys.

Just wondering what the best Twitter applications are out there (free)?

Personally I tried to use Tweetdeck, but hated it. It just took the fun out of tweeting in my opinion.

What other ones are out there, and what do they do?

I'd say Tweetdeck :P but you seem to hate it haha. It took me a while to get used to, but now it is just so easy.
I also use Thwirl from time to time

Is that pretty much the same as Tweetdeck? I'm assuming it's this program: http://www.twhirl.org/ ?

Funny your asking this because they had a review of some platforms for Twitter in my journal. I found the article back and, aside from twhirl, there was:

    Seesmic http://desktop.seesmic.com/

    and

    Spaz http://funkatron.com/spaz

    I haven't installed them though.

Tweetdeck is the best for me. It is because it has groups (If you are following a lot of people, you might like to listen to the people whom you follow closely first) to filter out tweets.

You can do a search on twitter via tweetdeck and it will update automatically. You can filter out tweets.

I'm assuming you don't like Tweetdeck because it is slow and too big. Well, you can shorten the width of the window by dragging the sides.

By the way, what client are you using at the moment?

Thwirl is smaller and isn't as bloated as Tweetdeck. I use Twhirl to tweet for Fuel and TweetDeck for myself

TweetDeck is my application of choice, and really the only one I'd recommend. Apart from Tweetie if you're on Mac.

I just use the ordinary Twitter page (on the web). I would quite happily change though as there's nothing special on there, hence this thread

Same here. And since I don't use Twitter that much, I don't feel the use of an application right now. :P
