I am looking out for a reliable link checker, I have used many in the past but want to stick to one.

Which Link Checker Do You Use?

im using free link checker named W3C

Here is the example of the result :

simple and accurate but it's take long time to proccess the result

what is link checker for ?
i look to the w3c .. but i dont undertand the code that always show up ...
looks like when we ping a website ..

It checks all outgoing links on a page, and tells you the status of them.

as nic SEO said. It's check all link on your blog and tell status if there is broken link or error link (dead link). The purpose of using this software is, if you find there is dead link on your blog, you can repair it, because dead link is affecting your optimizing.
