Thread: Will the URL Redirections counted as Direct impression?

We all are familiar with many url redirection services like tinyurl bud url co.cc and so on.

But what is the actual count they are giving a direct impression or a referral hit?

I am thinking that it will give a direct impression as its not coming from the site and just from the url redirection script. Am not sure though,

From my statistics program (AwStats) it's shown as a referral visit, not as direct traffic. But that's from Ow.Ly, never saw one from Tinyurl though, so it might be Tinyurl is counted as direct traffic

Am also using Awstats. But Checking the stat in google analytics too. Yeah I think tinyurl redirections are counting as direct impressions
