That was my other option. It was $999, plus I would have gotten $99 cashback, and a camera, cellphone or a software package for an extra dollar. It was much lower-spec'd than this beaut', 'ough.

The battery backup is really great. I can surf for about 3+ hours (6 cell battery) on a full charge!

I'll get mine on 2nd March. I don't plan to play games on laptop, but can you tell me the video card (Intel or Nvidia) you have on your notebook and the games you played?
Need some time to handle deferred joining date by three big IT companies.

If your work is still pending, I'll soon get in touch.

I am thinking about a new laptop but I am actually considering a Macbook.

Anyone have a favorite PC laptop that they would recommend that would handle photoshop, video editing, and must be good with a projector whether VGA, RCA or s-video?

I think any decent notebook PC should be able to meet those requirements -- although you might need an adapter.

I choose Dell Latitude's because they are durable and well-supported.

I have a Latitude D820 today, but I'll probably buy an E6500 next month.

I have an ATI Raedon 256MB video card and I can play GTA IV quite easily. (It recommends 512MB video card.)

Just a tip to those who are considering buying the dell studio 15:

The touchpanel buttons sometimes have problem when you boot your computer from a cold start or after a long start. The ejcect button stays on for sometime and other buttons won't work for about a min or so. But then everything is normal. However after talking to dell CC and reading lot of forums I concluded that this is more of a BIOS and NSS problem that occurs when you have Windows Automatic update on. If install a Vista upgrade do check the upgrades for the following things as well:
    1. Dell Quickset
    2. Notebook System Software
    3. BIOS Update

If you take care of these things, I am sure you won't face any problem.
