    How do you upload videos without youtube to your own site?

    Which software is best for that?

    there are many methods and custom video players. but for that, you'll need your video in .FLV format or you can simply embed it using the <embed> tag (that doesn't work on all browsers tho)

    If you are looking for a Quick Time player to play your videos and then have the videos on a wordpress blog there is a plugin here.
