iPad time 15 minutes ahead of Charter Cable?

You can't set the time on an ipad, it sets itself. You can change times zones of course, but obviously that increments in 1 hr steps.

Why does charter cable on my TV show one time, the clock on my laptop show the same... But my ipad is 15 minutes ahead? Dont recall it always being that way... And the ipad is working on my charter wifi so it shouldnt have anything to do with the incoming service.

Anyone have a clue to this mini-mystery?

I do not have an iPad, but it looks like that is an inherent problem with that device. I found this explanation and possible solution.

Nice find TD. So basically it is a known bug for which there is not really an available fix if used in wi-fi only mode. Neat.

Well, wife's Kindle Fire, every now and then, it will jump to pacific time.
This is like maybe once a week or longer between the times changing.
Then back to our local time.
Amazon has no clue why her kindle does this.

Amazon's time (Pacific time) may be the default for the Kindle Fire. Perhaps it resets to that if she doesn't get on a Wi-Fi network for a week of more. Just speculating. My wife and I each have a Kindle Fire but have never seen the problem. However, In Arizona we are on Pacific time for half of the year. Arizona does not use daylight savings time, so we never change our clocks. That technically puts us on PSD half of the year and MST the other half.

These days, daylight savings time it is kind of an absurdity. The Obama administration ordered us to go one daylight savings time, but our governor just flipped him the bird in response to the demand.
