    Skype Pushing Bing

So, when reinstalling software on one of our home computer's today after an OS reinstall, I noticed for the first time that Skype has cleverly hidden check box (pre-selected) to change the user's preferences to using Bing as the default search engine on the computer. Wonder if this will result in a higher market share for Bing?

Probably so. Frankly it'll be nice if Google gets a little competition, and Bing's the closest to being able to do it. Its a long haul kinda task, but bundling is the reason that god-awful MS Exploder browser replaced the IMO vastly superior Netscape browser (remember that one?). [That, and AOL acquired Netscape, which is the kiss of death.]

Bing has actually stepped up its game a lot.
It's becoming more and more noticeable world wide that the there is an alternative to Google and Bing is there to stay.

From what I see, Bing is moving more and more into the direction how Google used to be (good) and Google towards how MSN search used to be (crap).

I completely agree with the aforementioned comment. It's like they've decided to swap places. If only Bing would make the honorable move of separating "paid-for" ads vs. organic search because right now you simply cannot tell the difference. Other than that, I would say that Bing will eventually pose a real threat to Google's market share.

    Hi,

I have been using Bing for photo searches. I like how you can search by size. I don't know why google got rid of that.
