Thread: Installation Troubles

I've installed the translation script on my site, but keep getting errors.

I believe it has to do with the g array trans_url

http://translate.google.com/translate_c?hl=en&langpair=en%7C$lang&u=$url

If you look at the error message

Code: -2 (LANG2: Translator returned status '400' (req=http://74.125.43.101/translate_c?hl=en&langpair=en%7Carticlesonlove&u=h ttp://www.articlesonlove.com/relationships/figure-out-what-they-re-thinking-will-get-you-the-girl.html&usg=ALkJrhj31ndP4f4xyXgkNwD9FV63Zg5wMA))

you will notice that there is $langpair variable is in the url and the $lang variable is returning a part of the main site url 'articlesonlove' and not the language.

I have looked through the code in translate.php and the index.php, but I'm not a php coder, so I haven't got a clue as to what is going on here.

Any help would be appreciated.

Does the issue affect Google Translate, Yahoo Babelfish, or both?

I just visited Cómo Volver Su ahora ex - Artículos de Amor and it seems to be working.

This may be due to some GoDaddy weirdness where .htaccess changes appear not to take effect immediately? Scroll through godaddy .htaccess - Google Search and you will see some very strange things.

I have figured out the problem...

I looked at the url you posted and the ones that I was using and found that the way I was calling the Urls was leaving out the www. from them.

Adding them in, works like a charm...

OK, new issue....

The navigation is wonky in the translated page....

eg.:

http:// www. outdoorsarticles.com/lang/zh-TW/fishing/early-season-trout-fishing.html

If you hover over a link you will notice that the folder name 'fishing' is added to the base url...

eg.:

http:// www. outdoorsarticles.com/lang/zh-TW/fishing/boating-sailing/getting-afloat-this-summer-despite-the-credit-crunch.html

Should be:

http:// www. outdoorsarticles.com/lang/zh-TW/boating-sailing/getting-afloat-this-summer-despite-the-credit-crunch.html

Edit: The links for the Translation script are at the bottom of the pages

I'll have to escalate that one to the script's lead developer.

Fix is in progress... 2.16 cometh in the next couple of days.

Translation script 2.15 works fine for my site. But I dont understand why google frames the translation for some (few, only 3) web pages of the site.

It could be a bug in our Google cleaning code; that code is very complex.

What are the three web pages that are experiencing the problem?
