A while back I searched on "viral video" or maybe "how to make a viral video" (I forget now, exactly what search phrase that I used) on YouTube and it brought up a great tutorial video that was in itself a viral video with a huge number of views.
In the WPN video, I got the tips from Margaret Gould Stewart to optimize for Google with the tags and offsite (off of YouTube) promotion, and not just focus on the video content.
And she emphasizes to try and create viral videos for local business that hit 10K pages views, plus sustainable viral videos that are not just flash in the pan, short-lived.
So we can get some SEO tips from this; i.e. to help Google by connecting businesses with viral videos. And then monetization of the videos should get better.
That's what I get out of this evaluation exercise.
