Video series I started yesterday

Over the past couple of weeks I have been working on a video series. Last night I put together the first video and posted it on youtube.

Its targeted towards people who live in apartments and have limited resources to grow a small garden.

Keep in mind, the targeted niche for this type of video, are people who wish to prepare themselves and their family for a disaster.

Hopefully this series will span about 4 - 6 weeks with weekly updates. The video has received about 648 views in the past 16 - 17 hours.

Nice video. I also plan to do several videos. My expertise is in wilderness survival, but urban survival certainly is popular right now.

Which video camera are you using? The video quality is pretty good.

The sound is a little hollow, but it is not bad. You might want to try using a lapel microphone. They usually come with a 20 or 30 foot cord and are easy to conceal.

I use three cameras to film - depending on what I'am doing.

Canon SD750 - point and shoot. It films at 640X480 - 30 frames a second
Canon D10 - point and shoot water resistant camera for filming in poor weather conditions. It films in 640X480 - 30 frames a second.
JVC GZ-MS120R - for widescreen videos.

I need to get a lapel mic, but it needs to be the kind that records the audio so it can be imported with the video editing software. A lot of the stuff I do is outside, and a wire would just get in the way. And the cameras I am using, they do not have a mic plug in anyway.

For editing the video, I use windows movie maker.

I'm not yet very experienced with video production. I just picked up the new Kodak Zi8 pocket camcorder. Full 1080p with image stabilization. What I like is that it is one of the few pocket camcorders with removable storage media. A 32GB SDHC card will give you 10 hours of video at 720p. It does have a jack for an external microphone.

I picked up an Audio-Technica ATR3350 lapel mic, but I have not yet used it. If my video projects go well, I will probably invest in a full sized camera and a wireless mic.

That is exactly the feature I have been waiting for before buying a camcorder.

Nice videos, this is great stuff! All the best in your video marketing success. You could make some money by creating "premium videos" that contain more advanced tips and sell them on your site or use a content blocker with some CPA offers and let the visitors have it for free but you make some money.
