Youtube Partner I want to Laugh and Cry

Hi,

OK, For those of you who are trying hard to make partner like I was. Here is a heads up. We all wait for that invite.

Well here is some news I know for a fact. Things I was told have all been wrong. I don't think some so called experts have the foggiest clue about what they are talking about.

I have heard that you need tons of subscribers. WRONG!!!

That you need tons of likes. Wrong!!!

That you need tons of Page Views. Wrong!!!

Have a bunch of original videos uploaded. Wrong!!!

You need None of the above. I now think that they draw a name form a hat. :(

I have been working so hard trying to make partner, and today I did it. :) Yeah me right. Wrong!!! I have what I think are some really nice looking channels, good content, and so on.

Today I get the invite for partner.

Partners channels are allowed to put AdSense ads on your channel. Youtube picks the the channels that they allow to have ads running. It is by invite only.

Every time I see a list of the top 10 YouTube channel partners I take a look at what they offer. More often than not, the list consists of people doing mostly silly videos and parodies. That must be what sells advertising on YouTube. I think the YouTube sock puppet channel partner video kinda says it all.

And Thank You for the vote of confidence to make the list within a year. I am learning how to make videos and do better editing. This is very time consuming "editing that is." If the top ten are earning that much I have a chance to make $$$ also.

There is a long learning curve with working with videos. Earlier this year I bought Camtasia and Pinnacle Studio, plus all of the books that I could find on this topic. I found that there are no good books covering online video. I'm still gearing up to get into video production.

It would appear to me that most people clicking on ads in YouTube are not interested in the products, but rather are clicking on ads through curiosity, or for savvy users, to reward the channel partner. The ads I see on the parody sites do not appear to be contextual in any way.

Here's an interesting tidbit on the entire partner deal....out of the blue one of my YouTube channels was extended the offer (btw Sami I think its related to having valid Adsense accounts tied to the Google account that your YouTube channel is associated with)....

Now, I had not enabled ads until the other day since Google wanted me to go into detail on rights to images, background music, etc....
On video content not showing up in SERPS at all, I enabled on 4 videos with a short explanation about having rights to use the imagery, etc royalty free....
Within 24 hours all four videos are now listed on page 1 of their respective keyphrase....coincidence???? Strange :)

Anyway, I had the videos done to drive a little traffic, so guess we'll see if they make any money too :)

has anyone ever been invited because of the numerous likes he got to one of his videos?

I have seen the same thing as far as being #1 in search on a different channel of mine. I know have 4 channels that are partners. :) I still think that it was strange that the first one excepted was that one.

That is strange! For Garfish, I don't recall being "Invited"...I seem to remember it was a button that popped-up to "Apply for the program"....on the YouTube account connected with Adsense it was approved. For one of the channels not connected stated "I wasn't eligible"....going back a few months though so my memory is hazy.
