How important is a logo

A logo to your website is really very-very important. It represent as a brand of your website. The more attractive your logo is the more it reflects on mind and eyes of Internet users. What other thing matters the most is the content you placed on your web page. Your content must be unique and very informative.

Since im interested in graphic design i think it is very important, the logo represents your website. If you have a bad logo, i personally think less people will stay on your site because it will look un-profesional.
Whats your opinons on this?

A logo has to
1) Get your attention.
2) Implant your company name into the minds of viewers and to be remembered.
3) Have the right colors and design, give people a certain feeling about you and what you do.
4) Be at least somewhat unique, goes hand in hand with 1).
If I had the choice between a great logo on a white background html page with regular writing vs. an excellent design without a logo, I would pick the logo anyday.

A great design might bring you bragging rights, but a great logo can actually help build your business.

It goes beyond the logo, we are talking about "Brand Identity", so there is the Logo, Favicon, catch phrase (visual and audible), T-shirt branding, Letter Head etc. All marketing channels have to bind together with a common brand identity.

As long as it's unique and represents the sens of your business then you are good to go. I know people that has spend hour on logo design but their business is suck, and the opposite with simple logo and success in the business. Dont stress too much about logo, you can always improve it later.

* Logo should be meaningful and simple.
* Logo should be of good color combination.

A logo serves the same purpose as a dog marking his territory: It says "I am here and I am not going away, so look at me and smell me". And it works.

Logo gives idea about your website. It should have clearness and not at all close in association to the competitor's logo as it creel the anomaly of the product. Simple logo have been given much importance since the beginning. As the design which are complicated are little bit tough to remembered.
