    Integrating Word Press into Joomla

    Hey guys,

So I have been doing some more research and I have a couple of quick questions.

I have heard of integrating Wordpress into Joomla, what are your thoughts on this?

How do you get your site to match up if you are able to do this, (theme wise) (like who are you able to make the wordpress side of your site look like the joomla side)

Do you foresee a lot of problems making this happen?

    Other recommendations?

problems yes..... if you do not have an existent wordpress blog, try not to integrate them as it may go very wrong.... instead use either of the two.... even wordpress is quite powerful a CMS.....

Moreover, do not forget to backup your web site files.....

Hi, there are wordpress plugins and other Blog components for Joomla, what have you looked into so far ? Are you using Joomla 1.5 or 1.0.15 ?

I have tested a free a wordpress plugin for Joomla called Mojoblog which is based on wordpress for Joomla 1.0.15

Last I looked development for Mojoblog had completely stalled because the main dev focused his attention on another project. I've used mojoblog and it's very good, in the end though the lack of support for SEF urls made me drop it and just go with the default Joomla system.

I've also tested Azrul MyBlog awhile ago and it was not very good, certainly not worth paying for. It seemed that you were restricted to having only one blog category and needed a lot of improvements before it would be useful for me.

One that I haven't tried yet but sounds promising is this one from Core-PHP, this is for Joomla 1.5 and would be my first choice:
    'corePHP' WordPress MU for Joomla!

You can use Joomla as a blog without anything else, but not without a little bit of work to build up a blog based structure. For me Joomla is much more powerful, flexible and most of all a more secure system than wordpress.

Keep in mind that other Blogging extensions for Joomla have been released after this article was written:
