    Question on Photo

    How to enlarge a photo from 872 to 960 without losing contrast ???
    I downloaded some photo (872) but my site slide show is 960 wide ....
    anyone can help ?

    If it's a digital photo, enlarging means that you will create some graininess in the image. 872 to 960 isn't too much of an enlargement though.

    I do enlargements using GIMP. I just open the Image menu, select Scale Image, and then enter the size I need the image to be.

    Guys, use the best free image program ever, Irfanview. I'm using it for resize (& other alternations) and simple image viewing for the past ~12 years. It's damn small, very fast, easy to use and free. When you save a JPG, don't forget to set the quality to 90+, ideally 95+ if you don't mind relatively heavy images.

    You could also keep the photo the same size, but add a border around it, maybe a border that matches the color the background, behind the photo?

    That's a good Idea. cause if you enlarge a photo it will break. However, if the Pixel/inch of resolution is good you can enlarge the picture it won't have much effect.

    I think we will not maintain the photo pixels so that is the main point.
