I use imagechef. just google imagechef in fact I think it may be imagechef.com.

either way it does show like "made by imagechef" on your banner or image, its still a really easy and fast way to make a custom banner for cheap niche blogspot blogs.

whenever I'm making a quick high paying niche blogspot blog I just remove the top bar that all blogspot blogs have by editing the HTML and add one of those corny free banners and it generally looks alright. It's great because I don't even fret over it saying "made by imagechef" seeing as the people already know I'm cheap because im using blogger ... lol.

Try logoeyes, its really good and you have your logo done in a matter of minutes. After downloading it you can edit the logo using photoshop and further perfect it.

I purchased software called "The Flash Ad Creator" this has the advantage of built-in useful graphic elements, and it's very easy to produce professional-looking graphics with it.

If you start with the Gimp or PhotoShop you have a blank canvas and a complex piece of software to master, so I don't recommend them, leave them to the pro designers. Also, be aware of legal issues if you use educational software for commercial purposes.
