Hey,
Let us discuss our bad hosting experiences here.
I once was with Yahoo, and had hosting problems. They never ever replied to any of my mails. Absolutely useless service.
And to top it they charged me even after i had cancelled the service.

Yes, I actually had the same problem with billing. There also was a time that the MySQL Service on the server I was on failed. It took 5 phone calls to get them to fix it. However BY FAR the worst host I have had was DreamHost.Originally Posted by Brandon

I've had a couple of hosting disaster:
ZaxiHosting - All the databases just seemed to disappear. I sent numerous emails, none of which were replied to. In the end I had to ask for a refund (which I never recieved).
Featherhost - They were awesome for the first 3 months; fast service, amazing support etc. Exactly what you want from a host, so I renewed for another 3 months. Unfortunately, about a month in I started getting a LOT of downtime in peak time, so I was gradually losing traffic. Then, for some reason, the site wasn't linking properly to the database. I got a refund.
I'm now with WPWebHost on Farrhad's recommendation and so far so good. Lets see how they compare in a month or two

Had bad experience with many hosts, but the worst must have been newsit.es, which just disapeared without any traces (fortunately, I was on a trial plan and only lost 5$).
Netfirms have a very bad support too. Took my ages to cancel my account with them.

My hosting is on superbighosting. And the only problem is, the expiration date notification come to my mail routinly, start from 2 month before my hosting is expired...!!!

Yes, that's what companies do. They'll be desperate for you to renew your plan, so in that desperation they'll give you as many opportunities to renew as possible... that way they're more likely to sell it to you.
Godaddy do the same. I must have got about 10 emails letting me know that my domain was about to expire. In the end I gave it away free, just so I didn't get the mails anymore! :P

Yes, but it was infact quite a good domain, so for the $10 they paid to renew it, they probably could have sold it on for $20-30. Easy money, just I didn't have a verified Paypal/debit card to renew at the time, so it was just a nuisance in my eyes.Aha, very clever. In other words, you gave your spam to someone else. :P

Do you mean giving free hosting complete with a domain? Let me know if next time you giving away it again. I'll receive it...

so you have same experience here. But, just wanna know (to consider moving to another hosting), that 10 email your receive from godaddy, is start from when?
I mean, when you begin to receive it? 1 month before expired? 2 month or ... ?

No. I gave the free domains away as they only had a few days to expire and the emails from godaddy were getting annoying. It was slightly off topic, in all honesty. I think the emails started around a month before, and then they were weekly, then every 2 days or so.
Now, lets get back on topic with bad hosting experiences
