I have a few sites hosted on hostgator and haven't had any issues that I can recall.

    What's your take on JustHost?
    Are they any good?

I'm looking for reliable hosting and I do not mind paying few extra bux for it.

    The question is:

What hosting company will support Joomla site with forum and 2000+ active users?

I've heard somewhere that one of the company shutdown account because there where to many hits to the forum and their processor time was running high?

Not sure if it is just rumors....

    So anyway - Any recommendations?

I suppose JustHost has a custom control panel (No Cpanel), I fell very awkward with any hosting without Cpanel. I suggest you go with Hostgator, they are one of the best. By the way I think you should buy a VPS seeing your member size

Big companies does not care about little clients. They focus to those clients who bring tons of money.

Are you with a shared hosting at HG?

Actually most of the top companies do not use CPanel to name a few, Dreamhost, Godaddy, Ipower, Fatcow ....

PS: I just checked out with JustHost, they use Cpanel. sorry for the misinformation, do check out their reviewsbefore signing up
