Thread: Hosting Company Recommendations

Last host I used (currently not hosted) was mmhosting.com and may say this company canbe recommended for shared hosting, being cheap and professional.

I'm on Bluehost and I'm pretty happy with them! Only others I have experience of using is Hostgator and Godaddy. I was happy with Hostgator, but I didn't use them for a long time as I ended my project. Wasn't happy with Godaddy

I can say that hostgator is a good hosting company!

Host Mist because I have faith in running my own servers.

Not so good is Host Gator because of how they sell their services is a way to get sucked into a hole that you'll have problems getting out of (hey shoving 500+ people on a Dual Xeon server isn't exactly ideal environment)

ServInt works great for me, only 3 minutes of downtime (total) in the last two months.

I'm with Liquidweb since two years, they are the most professional in the field, but they are not cheap.. If you have serious sites online, they are the one to choose..

Hostgator.com:
They asked me for call verification, ID verification ... I went back !
But, they have very good reviews on web, if phone verification is not a problem for you, just sign up

• KGB/FBI/CIA Policies

Namecheap:
I hosted my new blog for one month, but I don't like when a company want to do all things (dns + hosting), so I switched.

• Cheap
• Nothing

TMZHosting:
I think I have tried all their plans : blogs, proxys, resellers...
They have a very good support (they are on NB), but I had some downtimes with them (and I don't like the design, yes it's not an argument I know ).
Recommended when you start

• Very friendly, Cheap

I bought a Linux VPS from them, nice try
I didn't renewed my account but it was a fun and cheap experiment of server management.

Resellers and Oversellers:
Get away from them !!! Believe me

Today, I'm looking for a cheap yearly plan to develop my websites portfolio (blogs, sites). I need another hosting for a twitter app that will be huge (need bandwith, very good uptime and support) ! Reply or PM me if you know a good one

Does hostgator do call and ID verification on all customers?
