Any differences if the sites are hosted in an overseas server?
I have this understanding that if you user base are mainly from a certain country (in this case Singapore), its best to use a hosting service locally cos its faster?

I have been comparing NZ based servers with US based servers (I'm in NZ) and I haven't really noticed much difference. Maybe a few seconds faster but I'd rather have the reliability of the internet in the US than in NZ. The only way I found it was much faster was on dialup but who uses that these days?
I'm not sure what the internet is like in Singapore but personally I would go with a US server.

I was about to ask if you really needed an "in house" server.
It's obviously better to host your sites near your visitors, still, if the server performs well and the hoster has enough bandwith you won't have any problems.
Got a better offer today.
They giving me an offer at S$119.95 or US$79.95.
