    Recommend me a VPS

I have a football forum which is currently using a shared hosting currently. I'm thinking of getting my first VPS (managed if possible).

    Forum statistics below.

    Forum Software: vBulletin
Unique Visitors: about 20,000 each month
Pageviews: about 280,000 pageviews each month

Visitors are mostly from South-East Asia (majority from Singapore).
We have an AJAX shoutbox on the homepage, and members frequently post and exchange pictures in the forum.

I'll be expanding the forum by end of year. Will be installing the new vB4 so that my writers and editors can publish football news daily.

How much RAM is enough to run this website? Any recommendations?

If you want managed, then ServInt is the way to go. Their first plan is $50, but it comes with 50GB Disk, 1000GB Bandwidth, and 756MB RAM (1.5GB Burst). You also get cPanel or Plesk for free, and their support is like heaven on earth.

I've been using WiredTree - Managed Dedicated Servers | Managed VPS Hosting | Fully Managed Web Hosting for a couple of years now and am quite happy with them.

I've used VPS, Hybrid and now dedicated and couldn't be happier.

  4. I have been using Hostdime for several years and have had good luck with them.

  5. Hmm... I think that for a Singaporean audience, I'd try to get Singapore-based hosting.

    Hi Will,

In your opinion, how much RAM is enough to run the kind of website that I have?

  7. Hmm... I couldn't say... I run all my sites on two servers. Each has 24GB of RAM and I'm thinking I should upgrade.
