Shared SSL Certificate by hosting company - is that fine?

Why should I get an SSL Certificate when my hosting provider has a shared one? Where can I obtain a private SSL certificate for my website?

Some companies even do offer certificates for free within the hosting plans. I think this is pretty good practice. If to take a look at webintellects.com yopu could find out they're offering cheap certs worth of buying.
