I'm not sure if there is but i wanna know too. i did add domain in my main hosting
Why would there be a disadvantage? It's easier to have everything in one FTP, maybe for security it's better to have a different FTP account for every site, but it takes a lot of time so..
The main disadvantage is management, as it can be a real headache to manage those add-on domains (in fact sub-domains of the main account).
Also, add-on domains are known to randomly break sometimes, which means you need to keep a decent backup plan just in case you need to re-upload everything.
I would in fact prefer all most of my domains at one place so they they are easier to manager from just one FTP. Otherwise I would have to keep loggin in to different account everytime I want to manage a new domain.
It keeps things organized IMO
Has anyone experienced difficulties with setting up SSL on multiple addon domains with shared hosting ?
How about if you want to use a seperate SSL cert for each one of your individual addon Proxy domains with one shared hosting account.

I think addon domain feather is pretty good and can be very convenient. But you have to consider the problem of the bandwidth.Make sure each of
your websites have enough resource to use.Or you'd better not use addon domain function.

Add-On Domains on one hosting account have their Pros and Cons. They make things simpler and more organized.
Bandwidth is one problem and the other is dependency and security.
You are dependent on one account, anything happens to it and your screwed.
Security is another matter, unauthorized access to this account by a third person would put all your sites in jeopardy.
