Block AdSense and PayPal Within Glype Proxied Pages To Prevent Penalties
It's a good idea to prevent AdSense ads from loading on proxied pages in Glype. This prevents Google from thinking your site is loading other people's ads. Additionally, Google does not allow AdSense on adult sites. Let's say one of your proxy users visits an adult site via your Glype script. Google's AdSense bot might think your site has loaded AdSense onto an adult site because the proxied connection comes from your domain. Some people, including myself, have been penalized by this misunderstanding.
To prevent this from happening to you, do the following in Glype:
- Log into the admin control panel.
- Scroll down to the section that says 'Website access control'
- In the box that says "Blacklist:", enter this: doubleclick.net
- Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click the 'Save Changes' button.
It might be a good idea to block other ad networks as well. It's also a good idea to block PayPal because they sometimes flag accounts which were logged into from an unrecognized or suspicious IP address. When this happens, PayPal freezes the account. This makes it a bad idea for a person to log into their own account via proxy. To block other common ad networks and PayPal, repeat the process and enter this list into step 3:
