to get listed in google does it help to have a .com over a .info or does it not really matter

It doesn't help a lot. Whether you have a .com, a .info, a .be or a .tk it gets you listed as soon as Google spots the link. Of course Google will give more weight to websites that carry .com. I've seen many .info sites being on top for keywords in Google, but I've also seen many more .com sites being on top for keywords in Google.

The tld definitely counts, but it's normal that for example Google.be gives more weight to .be domains, while Google.cz gives more weight to .cz domains and much less to .be because most of the .be's are Dutch which people from .cz don't understand

Aquarezz is absolutely correct. Country-specific versions of Google (Google.be, Google.cz, Google.de, etc.) prefer websites that utilize that country-specific TLD. However, regular Google isn't as concerned. I believe .info's perform differently than .com's since they are cheap and often used for spamming. It is possible, though, that it's a coincidence and Google just so happens to penalize more .info's because they are more likely to be spammers, rather than the TLD being held in second-place for other reasons. Moreover, it's entirely possible to get ranked first with a .info and I've seen it many times.

Generally, however, if you can get a .com / .net / .org you're better off.

ok thanks i was wondering cause i bought the domain twitterunblock.info and i didnt know if if u should spend 10$ more but yea i just brought .info see if it works better

.info domains are usually used for spam sites, as a webmaster I dont like visiting .info websites so I would suggest you to buy .com or .net domains, you can buy them at name.com for 6 bucks on fridays

If u making proxies, then .info is best, if making topsites or anyother niche site i would buy .com

The .info is best suited for information sites, as the name explains all.
.com is for commercial use.

To my point of view, the rank on google is not for your domain extensions, it's by it's content. That's all.
