Thread: Downloads via proxies

I've used proxies to download from rapidshare and hotfile.com however there always seems to be a problem either at the start or at the end part of downloading.

Seems like proxies are not efficient for download sites, am I correct with this presumption?

Typically, yes, you are correct. On my proxies, I want people to browse, not sit there and use up my bandwidth downloading 100s of megabytes of files. And to that effect, I limit the file sizes that can be accessed through my proxies. Some other admins may let people download as much as they want, but I'm sure a majority have a similar file size restriction in place.

In most cases, if you want to download, you're going to have to use a paid proxy.

Can I kindly ask why you aren't investing in a premium account on those websites? If it's too costly, you can search 3 other people (in different timezones) and pay 1/4 each. Since you can't download with 2 persons in the same timeframe on RS it's where the different timezones come in handy

There are also a lot of people who sell rapidshare premium accounts for a cheaper price (that are generated with points). I'm not sure about hotfile accounts though..

But to answer, no proxies aren't good to download since a lot of proxies have a session limit from like 10mb per session. Mostly files are a lot bigger than 10mb

or you can use rapidshare premium link generator sites.
