Yep, and that's what every proxy owner should do, even if there aren't a lot of members in the group, every bit helps...
And as you can get the following rates:
$0,10-$0,20 per member it is worth something though

    18 Januari 2009 - Day 5
I'm back again with some minor tips... first of all, forget the ChipIn.. it doesn't work for proxies, except if you have a site like UnblockAll.Net & HideMyAss.Com...

As a second point, I would like to discuss something... some people say the following:
"Change your default text on your proxies to higher paying keywords about security etc..."
Well, I have tested this.. and at the end this was the result:

    • Normal proxy keywords paid me: Average 1,50$ per day.. with an average of 20 clicks
    • Keywords about security, traveling (around the web): Average 1,10$ per day.. with an average of 7 clicks

Now you can choose, or you will get more clicks and higher money, or you will get less and less money...
I've tested this on 5 proxies, and this is the average I got per day per proxy (some where higher, some weren't)...

    The reason is very simple, proxy users are more interested about;
Unblock Orkut, Unblock Myspace etc... than about 'Filter the content with WebSense'..

That's why there were much more clicks on these keywords... so now you can test it out yourself if you don't believe me, but this is the result I got.. and if you check out my sites, you can see I'm using a default text (bit changed by me)...

Now I'm using also a professional form, which will hopefully improve more users to come back.. as most are getting bored about those 'standard forms'.

This is it for today, not much more to tell except that my affiliate program from Hostgator didn't work well on the proxies, but yeah.. if I can get 1 affiliate per month through that it's well worth it.. another nice 50$

Makes interesting reading, i enjoy reading about what other people are doing if its directly related to what i am am doing

All i can say is ditch the shared hosts and vps providers, if you bought 75domains in one batch you should be putting the money into a real home that wont go offline 6 times a week.

Anyway, i thought you were leaving this business?

    Hi,
Well my sites didn't went offline for the past 5 days, and were fast pretty much all the time so
And 75 domains, it's just 100$, not a big deal, as it's a huge RoI for me
    (Tripled the money so far)

And yeah, I know, but it's like an addiction.. I know how to have good proxies, how to promote them, and how to monetize them...
Everytime I want to start a 'normal' site, I don't know how to get traffic to them, unless with SEO.. but SEO isn't just my thing so..

Difficult thing there, that's why I restarted

Put links to your "normal" sites on all your proxy sites.

Might work indeed, but I'm not a real SEO'er, but from what I've read, Google doesn't like the websites who are linked from other websites who have over 80 outgoing links on the page...
I mean, I have hell lot of links on my proxies from all those proxy lists, so that might have a negative effect too...

Right this is why any of the top proxy sites dont have a footer full of those. After the first month I would say if you are going to try and make a proxy that will last would be to edit you site and delete all of the links and then run it like a normal site. Unique content, all meta tags filled out properly, minimum amount of links in your footer and then start your link campaign. When you are targeting keywords keep in mind the stiff competition look at the sites sitting on the first page for certain keywords, as trying to target the term "proxy" will be a long road a lot of competition for the term and the sites ranking high in it have been there for a long time. So research other terms and be sure to look at the long tail terms for proxy sites. Get good rankings for what is easiest and slowly work on taking on the big dogs

    Very good advice!

I have two sites on page one for "proxy" -- and it took a lot of work. I still can't beat proxy.org or Wikipedia though.

Related keywords like "proxy sites" were much easier.
