Thread: Glype - Can't Browse Twitter

Edit: It was in fact a twitter plugin I had. Deleted and Twitter works.


PS: Glype is starting to have more and more issues lately. Does anybody have a good proxy script recommendation? (customizable, more compatibility, logging feature, cache, hotlink protection, limits, ssl support, etc.)

I can browse it using Hide YourSelf , doesnt seem to give me any problem

Hmm, somethings wrong with my script on Guard Tunnel. I'll try reupload my browse.php to see what's up.

No idea about other scripts , i hope as said on glype forums they would launch glype 2 after holidays .but as seen there have been no updates what so ever

Sadly we're stuck with Glype for now, as it is still the best option.

Unless we could convince Zeldorn to create a new proxy script?

I might contribute a few things to Glype if it was GPL. But its not. But then might not. There are a number of problems arise from the software itself, many people are profiting from it but never donated anything back to the project, the plugins on the site has nothing bascially, becuase nobody will probably give any plugins becuase there motivated by greed,( so they wouldn't help there "competitors") and mainly becuase none of the so called budding entrepreneurs using the script trying to run some .com business cant actually code their way out of paper bag, and probably aren't trying either. So there is actually no coding talent or anything going on the forum there. It doesn't seem like a good community and project to be part of to learn anything. I really can see why the original developer there "Nick" just sold the site, he probably got sick of it. lol

I would honestly love to help out, but I don't know how to code (And yes, I am slowly learning). But it's hard to when the owner of the site doesn't care at all, there are pages and pages of spam on that site covering any content - it's completely unusable - and I even asked him, he refuses to make it GPL.

I would donate to you if you made plugins

Keldorn - Maybe you should create a 'shop'/site where you could sell some plugins ? Maybe add a new section onto HideFinder !

I've actually thought of that before when I was coding hidefinder, its probably something I will add to hidefinder at some point.

I actually learned PHP from spending alot of time in the Glype sourcecode. Since the developer commented the script so well. I think it was really helpful.
The catch though is I spent from probably Jan 2008, to Aug 2009, tinkering around with Glype and also making some of my own scripts. Its really a long process of learning and probably could been done faster if I had mentor. So I'm not surprised to find most programmers have take courses in Computer sciences and also Java to learn programming. I haven't done any of that.

The biggest thing that has been scaring me with Glype is that Javascript is used too, and I'm 100% hopeless with JS.
