I will be accepting entries for the next 40 days approximately so make sure to tell everyone to
submit their ideas of what would make a web proxy script complete.

Visit the Official Post to submit all your ideas and suggestions so we can have the best damn web-based proxy script ever.

I still haven't started it, first we have to plan and organize everything which is why I'm asking for ideas and suggestions. Once I get started, it should take from 3 to 5 months considering I will be working on it on my free time and the amount of work I have to put into it.

Here's what I honestly think. Make a proxy that actually works, and make the code clean and add an easy way to edit templates and add plugins. THAT'S IT.

Only add what is necessary, don't bloat the proxy, since you want to use as little resources as possible.

IP Blockers and Who's Online can be added separately with little php snippets - not necessary. All of this other stuff like Newsletter Manager and Ad Manager are not proxy features. You are making a proxy, not a feature-packed website CMS.

As long as you have a good central plugin system, then these other features should be fairly easy to integrate SEPARATELY, not together.

Proxies are not about who has the most features (I guess maybe for newbies, but the real proxy webmasters would hate it). Proxies are about what works, and what works most efficiently with good, clean code, fast loading times, and low CPU/Bandwidth consumption. Worry about those. The rest can be dealt with separately.

    I second this.

Support for popular sites, minimal resource utilization and fast loading/working, are the most important features for me.

    I third this..lol

Make all the extra features optional..may be provide these features as plugins..n00bs can download the plugins and operate but pros dont need much of them..

This is a good idea considering there's no proxy script I know of that's still being developed. You have my support. Here are my suggestions:

A light-weight, efficient, and stable framework is key and by far the most important.

All these features are nice, but should be implemented as plugins that can be easily activated/deactivated. Support for additional plugins and easy modification would be awesome, but it's icing on the cake.
