Thread: HideMyAss Beats Wikipedia!

Hybrid View

  1. HideMyAss Beats Wikipedia!

Wikipedia has long held two spots just below proxy.org for the search term "proxy" in Google's results.

Is anyone else seeing this surprise change?

If this "sticks" I'm going to have to do some serious studying of their SEO methods.

    Ah I just realized that

Wow I really need their methods, since my proxy keeps jumping from page 1 to page 3 for 'unblock myspace' like every other day, I can't get it to hold still

You are probably seeing different results from different data centers. We have 4 different data centers that rotate through my area. Each can have different results.

Sites that get to the very top tend to stay at the top for all data centers because their "value" from Google's perspective overwhelmingly outweighs all other sites ranked for a given search phrase.

I don't know who runs it, but it's part of the Privax Network.

I believe they operate under the nickname zymic, at least that was so at one point on proxy.org forums.

I think that's because they have the word 'Proxy' in their title and URL?
