How to manage a Proxy Network???

I wanted to know how you guys manage your proxy network?? I know there are folks with 50-60 sites but I am having a rough time with just 14 sites. In that also only 5 are active.

I wanted to know how do you manage to bring traffic to your network?? My 5 sites get 500UV/day among them in total and i feel its too low. I want to increase it 4 times. and also bring traffic for my other dormant sites.

I am currently using Y! answers. What more do you recomend for promoting a proxy network?? except Topsites.

    Thanks.

everyone uses different way to promote their proxies everyone have their different way to get SEO done and everyone uses different techniques for managing their proxy network

you may promote it by proxy mailing lists or google/yahoo groups, you may do it by getting your link on proxy blogs / proxy lists or proxy topsites to exchange traffic or maybe with the general SEO techniques with onsite and offsite optimization by writing articles, yahoo answers, and more.

when it comes to managing i know two techniques which i have implemented so far.
    1) 1st establish 4-5 proxies and when they have steady traffic and income with se, refferal and direct traffic you can move on to work on new proxies

    2) keep creating new proxies every few days and keep discarding the old one's

I haven't been on any Forums in a long while so I guess I'm a couple of steps behind. Can someone explain what a "proxy network" is to me?

Proxies are web sites which allow people to get around Internet censorship blocks like WebSense, SmartFilter, etc...

Those people usually fall into one of a few groups:

    • People who live under autocratic governments (China, Iran, etc...)
    • People who attend school under autocratic administrators (almost everyone in school!)
    • People who work in jobs where their Internet is filtered

The blocking software (WebSense, Smartfilter, etc...) is updated constantly to block known proxies. Therefore, the proxy owners have to keep creating a steady stream of new unblocked proxies.

When you a managing a lot of proxies, it's pretty easy to think of them as "a proxy network." Generally speaking, this is just a bunch of sites running the same software (PHProxy, Glype, Zelune, etc...) with (hopefully) different templates.

I ran over 750 proxies 2 years ago if I'm correct, could be longer or less longer I'm not sure. Though I had the luck I could sell them all in once for a big amount. But my suggestion is:

Create a few proxies each week, promote them VERY GOOD in that week, earn from them another 3 weeks and than sell them, this will give you most money (after 1,5 months most proxies are blocked already, than they don't bring in much of money anymore.)

    Promotion techniques:
    - Proxy Mailings, you have the known ones like Addvertise.Info (to over 40K people), but I'm also offering free mailings to over 2750 users which is worth 3$ Just surf some proxy forums, NetBuilders and maybe DigitalPoint Forums
    - Proxy Listing Sites, you said don't mention them, but as being a proxy owner for 4 years, and been in good times & bad times with proxies, these are mostly the sites that bring in traffic DAILY. Don't look at forgotten listing sites like Proxy Server Listings but look to listing sites like Proxy Sites ; Proxy.org - The Proxy Authority ; ProxB.Com | Proxy Sites - Working Proxies - School Proxies ; MySpace Proxy | Unblock Myspace | Proxy Server | Proxy List | Centurian Proxy Network ; http://workingproxies.info etc...

These are the major ones and bring in most traffic, ofcourse there are tons others too (Like WebEvader.org) but you just need to find out which ones.

Ofcourse there are other ways.. search Google for: "Proxy Promotion" and you'll find a lot of results

Thanks Nico. You gave me quite a good idea of how to manage a network. The reason I didnt ask for topsites is that the traffic dries out after few days. So I will add my sites one week before I sell them.

Also thanks for the links to those quality topsites.

Its as easy as tough it is. If you get n the right track, you end up on profits. I used to run a proxy creation service at DP(which came to an end bcz of my ban there ), usually people made 2-3 times what they paid me to create, host and promote their proxies.

Bottom line : No matter how much the competition is, there is always the need for more proxies
