How much would you spend on adwords

how much would you spend on adwords to promote your web proxy, I ask this because I have seen many ads pointing to hidemyass and I'm wondering is this profitable how much has zymic spent on adwords?

Nothing. There's no way to make a profit from it.

HideMyAss is probably doing it to spread their brand and because they offer stuff besides proxies.

Yeah, better spend money on newsletter blasts etc. HideMyAss got a real brand name already. They know that they're blocked everywhere, so for them it doesn't make much sense.

Their system is also far better than the ones from other sites, and they aren't just promoting their proxy on the homepage but also their remote upload stuff etc

I spend nothing on adwords, in the proxy business there are so many better alternatives...

Thats becuase hidemyass is offering a socks proxy service.

I think its also a bit risky. As your ad if it appears on other proxy sites, if anyone clicks on it. After they are done being redirected threw the adsense server and sent to your landing page. It might be blocked. So they would click on your ad and being sent a blocked site. Your paying for that.

That why filters suck ass for advertisers and waste their money.

Myself I would disable the ads from appearing on the network and only show on Google... The aforementioned risk is too great. lol

Adwords is generally useful only if you sell something on your site.

I wouldn't use it to promote proxies unless I got free credits from some source (Godaddy w/some purchases etc).

What if for example: You spent $10 on adwords and received $50 in credit from a voucher? For a total of $55 Would it be more worth it then?

Would be worth a shot for sure.

I spent a fair chunk of change on adwords trying to push out proxies last year, probably wouldnt try it again. I personally find it a little hard to track, but I believe adsense, adwords and analytics are all tied in together better now.
