    How to place ads on proxified page of php proxy script

    Friday, December 28th, 2007

    PHP proxy is the most commonly used proxy scripts around. Though the coder seems to have discontinued the project but still we can find it easily at sourceforge . I Myself too use the modified php proxy theme on most of my proxies. I use the modified one so that all myspace and orkut features can be accessed. Thats another story though, today we’ll see wherea to add the adcode on proxified page. Most of the new proxy owners find it difficult to place the adcode in proxified(index.php) page.

    Lets understand this 1st, index.inc.php is the main page of ur site where you can place adsense ads and index.php is the proxified page, where u are not allowed to used adsense ads(its against adsense’ TOS to do so). Usually we use adbrite or adversal ads on proxified pages.

    Lets see where to place the adcode. Open index.php file. Search for <br /><hr />. Just after that place your adcode and add <br /> just after the adcode (so that the options are shown below your ads and not in the same line as ads). Remember your adcode should be between<br /><hr /> and '; . If you placed adversal code then you are done, save the file and use it on your proxy. But if u want to use adbrite ads then don’t close it yet. Your adbrite code is something like this(we’ll just see the part of the code which needs to be edited)

    var AdBrite_Title_Color = ‘0000FF’;
    var AdBrite_Text_Color = ‘000000′;
    var AdBrite_Background_Color = ‘FFFFFF’;
    var AdBrite_Border_Color = ‘FFFFFF’;

    Change it either to
    var AdBrite_Title_Color = “0000FF”;
    var AdBrite_Text_Color = “000000″;
    var AdBrite_Background_Color = “FFFFFF”;
    var AdBrite_Border_Color = “FFFFFF”;

    Or To
    var AdBrite_Title_Color = \’0000FF\’;
    var AdBrite_Text_Color = \’000000\’;
    var AdBrite_Background_Color = \’FFFFFF\’;
    var AdBrite_Border_Color = \’FFFFFF\’;

    In The 1st option we Replaced ' With " And in the second one add \ just before every '.

    If u forget to do this for adbrite, then the script wont work and u will just see blank page on your website.

    I was wondering whether we can call an iframe on top of the page i.e. proxified page and let the iframe do the rest. I do not have a proxy but would like to do the same. i.e. trying out different things

    I'm a bit confused. What exactly is it that you want the IFRAME to do?

    That is one of the best ways I have seen like on this proxy having the adbrite down there has been a great to display additional ads on the page without it looking cluttered.

    I didnt code it so cant help much but would like to see someone answer it.
