I'm curious if this was a good idea.

I know a lot of us think of bad traffic (like Iran and Chinese) and how it effects our earnings/resources. While some companies don't mind this type of traffic, most don't like it. So most of us do the following:

    1) Redirect it to another domain.
    2) Leave it and take the small earnings, but risk getting smart-priced.

    So I was thinking this:

Make your proxy with AdSense ads and all, but then set up a GeoIP redirection to redirect all bad traffic to a different directory, IE /iran/

So if an Iranian visitor goes to they will be redirected to

This new directory will basically be an exact copy of the old one, except you replace the ads with some company's like GlobalInteractive or CANEP or something like that, to preserve your AdSense. It's better to get 5 cents/1000 impressions compared to 1-2 1 cent clicks/1000 impressions.

    Any comments?

If I am not mistaken, the ad companies like GlobalInteractive or CANEP and many other also have different rate for different traffic, even some will not pay for "bad" traffic.

If I were you, I prefer to have all my bandwidth for good traffic and ditch bad traffics all together. As we all know that traffic from those countries are enormous and bandwidth killer.

The whole issue is these countries burn lots of resources and we cannot support that with the current advertising partners such as adsense / cpm banners.

I usually redirect them to my proxy list at ProxB.Com, than they don't use tons of my resources and maybe there they can find proxies that DO accept their countries

That's a great move actually Aquarezz... hhmm... but I don't wanna start a new proxylist just for this matter... but I'll think about it.
