Err... I am retarded. I meant to type "Is there any money to be made in creating a new proxy script? "

Doubtful. I think Glype cornered the market. The only way a new script would become popular is if it can flawlessly play YouTube videos and do other things that Glype can't do or has trouble with. Log-ins to a lot of sites and many forms don't work well with Glype and PHPRoxy. It would be nice if a new script could basically just do more than the current ones.

I think there is a market - I think a premium proxy script would appeal to the more serious proxy owners such as myself. Of course, I would want assurance that it is compatible with most sites and has good support.

The trouble is that most proxy owners are cheap bastards.

If a script is good enough I think 'most' people will pay for it.

Right now there's a growing void as all proxy scripts are pretty much dead. Glype is just being abused and treated like dog. All the 50+ forks of Phproxy are dead. There are lots of experimental ones, but there is no "Premium Proxy Script" as Zash put it. I think that could appeal to many people, but perhaps a poll would give a better indication.

I'd definitely pay for a proxy script that doesn't leak and there's a ton of things that could be improved ( Support for new TLD's etc ) or added on to what's already available in existing scripts.

Sell it to the ones who aren't

Maybe a quality paid script could come with a large number of licenses for a reasonable price. That way proxy webmasters could use it on a lot of sites for cheap.
