If you want to consider paid listing scripts then there's pointproxy.com (not tried it but the default colors suck imo), a (so called) proxy.org clone that's really a proxylistscript clone at eziscript.com (not tried it, I believe blankip.info uses that one) and the speedyproxies one from unikscripts (cheapest) but that needs a tidy up before use, I tried it once and gave up on it, some like it though, it's easy enough to mod.

Tbh it's not something you're likely to make a lot of income from though, not unless you have a LOT of traffic. Ad revenues are poor anyway so premium listings get the most $'s, and that needs traffic before you can charge good prices. Try the free scripts first, you can always upgrade later but you don't want to be spending a lot because of the poor initial returns. It's a learning experience the same as proxies, do it, try new stuff, see what works for you. I only started my list because I wanted somewhere to list my own proxies in the first place but it kind of grew

, so I started another and hope to do some more eventually. Everybody needs a hobby.

I may upgrade shortly.

It's not the only one I didn't like, but I did just try the free version, I would hope the paid version is better. This is my personal opinion and experiences vary, some people love it, but you did ask

The main reason for me was the ease of spam submissions, there's no safeguard on input so people can (and did) submit any old rubbish, proxy or otherwise, so every single entry had to be checked one by one, ordinary websites were submitted a bit too often (google and yahoo were favorites). If there's auto submit then it fills up with spammers' non proxies and parked domains, like geeknb's new list is starting to. There's also no way to limit the tld's of submissions either, you can't block co.cc's & .tk's for instance, except manually.

It seems very labor intensive to me and I'm just plain lazy tbh. I also didn't like the random listings (the paid version has a 'latest' list) or the lack of a 'popular' list (paid version has 'last visited'), but that's a personal thing too.

What it does have in it's favor is ease of setup, most people can use a wordpress install so it's a doddle to get working, unlike some other free scripts. It's certainly worth a try and I wouldn't want anyone to not use it, it's just not for me. I prefered proxycoders free list script myself but I like a challenge. If it's too easy it's no fun to do.

But really, no problem for me to review each submitted proxy.

Yes, the idiots that go and submit google.com and yahoo.com.
Wonder why just those two are always submitted, not just proxy lists but directories?
And I have a few of those when I first opened up my proxies blog.
Now I have not had a site not a proxy submitted in a few weeks.
(now watch, I will go there later and bam....LOL)

I am going to cogitate a little bit more today on upgrading to the paid version.
Just to get a few bucks rolling in to pay the blog's way.

Misconfigured spam software? Maybe the spammer left default settings in it. Maybe there's buggy spam software out there.

The issue with RAND() is it will be inefficient on large tables because each row needs to have the random number calculated before the resultset can be ordered. This post looks at an alternative which requires two queries but will be much more efficient for large tables.
