Proxy.org sent an average of 7 proxies per day last week. In such shorts lists, every position has equal value.

There is no controversy. There is only your absurd criticism of Proxy.org for something that your own website does. Note that the WebEvader.org site states the following:
These spots are randomly rotated with each pageview. You will receive great exposure with this listing. Each proxy listed within position 4-25 are not set positions, but will be rotated to assure each proxy of good exposure and any position between 4-25.
Proxy.org is the proxy authority. Over 44,000 proxies listed, 44,000 forum users, and 200,000 mailing list subscribers.Get an Email Blast for only $5 (just 2.5¢ CPM).

Thank you for clarifying that, Glypus.

Always a sensible measure when purchasing any advertising.

You purchased one for June 6, 2009. Back then, we reached 98,000 members. Today, we still charge the same price ($5) but deliver much more.

That is the nature of this kind of marketing and is beyond control.

It doesn't take much luck or effort to make $5.

Every position on the list is valuable. Every group is sent the same list of proxies, some groups just see them in a different order.

Notice that my comment was in the past tense. I have no idea if it's more valuable now then it was then. It's likely that it could have gone either way or maintained value. Since I haven't tested it recently, I do not know for sure.

That is the nature of this kind of marketing and is beyond control.
This is correct. I'm simply making a statement advising people of the variables associated with such a marketing technique. I am not, in any way, attempting to imply anything otherwise.

It doesn't take much luck or effort to make $5.
True. Making $5 is extremely simple. However, if someone was to make a 5$ investment on your 'Email Blast' they would expect to make at least $5 from traffic resulting only from the aforementioned service in order for it to be valuable or worthwhile. Therefore if you make the $5 investment and earn say, $3 from traffic arriving directly as a result of the blast, then it was not worth it.

Every position on the list is valuable. Every group is sent the same list of proxies, some groups just see them a different order.
There is no way to say that every position is valuable since they are ordered randomly. Every single e-mail sent could have my proxy at, or near, the bottom, or even hidden somewhere in the middle where most people wouldn't be likely to see it. I'm only trying to explore the vast flaws with any sort of service like this, not only yours.

I saw the inaccurate comments posted above and I responded for the purpose of setting the record straight. What problem do you have with Proxy.org?
It would take me a while to explain, and it's not really appropriate for me to express my thoughts on your website here in public.

Rest assured, it's nothing personal and my earlier comments in this thread were also not meant to be personal.
Just approaching it all from a business-perspective.

Yep, but it isn't always 7 sites

Well I have read posts where people say your service is either hit or miss so...

I was giving you advice which could stop people saying that. I am not trying to undermine you service or anything, I actually think it is one of the best.

Also, proxy listings are completely different to email blasts. They cannot be compared since blasts are a one time deal, listings are over a longer time which would mean the random order would work better...

PS, Mods you might want to merge this thread with this one:

I tried this twice, While I did get a traffic boost it wasn't cost efficient. Price Per hit was a lot higher than other promoting methods. I prefer to purchase a monthly listing on proxy.org and supplement it with tech-faq
