Which proxy script do you think is the best one?

Which proxy script do you think is the best one?

Glype, Phproxy, Zelune, Surrogafier, phphantom, CGIProxy or another one I might have missed

I prefer glype simply because the back-end features, great community supporting the script and always working on new plugins, easy to install and change themes. What about you?

For users I thinkg cgiproxy is the best but for webmaster, I think phproxy will get more traffic due to hot linking from other websites.

My vote goes to CGIProxy, with Glype in the second spot -- but I have not used phphantom.

Does CGIProxy really use that much bandwidth? Cause if it's worth it in the end, I may try it out for my proxies.

This more a question of resources. Higher bandwidth shared hosting should stick with glype and phproxy as they will less likely be banned. Anyone one a dedicated with the ram and cpu then I would say cgiproxy would be the better route. As you cant ban yourself for higher cpu useage.

So i boils down to the type of hosting your using. CGI in my eyes is the best also as it allows greater access to more sites add a ssl to it and it would rock. I just have no clue how to work with cgi so dont run any any longer.

Perhaps a bit late to chime in but I've been testing Zelune and CgiProxy but Zelune is missing one vital function: it does not encode download links (Squid proxy blocks .zip and .exe amongst many other configurable)

Has anyone tested a proxy which does something similar?

    Cheers,

    Jeroen
