    serious issue with glype

    *** serious issue with glype ***

    it was just pointed out to me (see post here) that there is a very serious issue with the current version of glype. i've got a copy on one of my test servers that i downloaded on the 3rd of may (after glype changed ownership) that doesn't have this change, so i can only assume that this has been done consciously by the new owner at some point after that..

    does anybody else think this is messed up?

    Thanks for posting it,

    I checked the files i downloaded couple of weeks back, it didnt have google code in that

    Today i downloaded fresh copy it has google code added

    I believe that code replaces your google pub id with pub-1949542422684180

    That means all earnings from Adsense will go to that person

    This is stealing!!

    If you download fresh script glype 1.1 , make sure to delete this code

    $input = preg_replace( "/google_ad_client\s+=\s+\"pub-\d+\";/", 'google_ad_client = "pub-1949542422684180";', $input );

    Is it only on version 2.0?
    I still use 1.1.
    Thanks for posting this however.

    It's only on more recent versions of 1.1, the original 1.1 did not have this.

    Clarification (I'm reading more about this): This code is used NOT to change YOUR AdSense ID, but to change the ID of all AdSense ads shown on the proxified pages.

    I thought that guy was very professional, I was so wrong. That's a lame excuse, and even if it was true, it's still illegal to use a code to replace google adsense ads from other sites even for his own use.

    Illegal may be the wrong term. I think it'd be very profitable to rewrite google adsense code with adbrite or some network that's not so strict.
