    btw.. there is 3 problems..
1>you need to have your own dedicated server with access to modify apache settings in order to do it.. you cant do this on a $2 shared hosting a/c unless your hosting provider wants.
2>firefox & most other browsers warns users against entering websites with un-recognized(certificates from not-so popular ssl providers like say a self-signed one) ssl certificates.. so you may loose many visitors due to that too! is there any solution to that?
3>my shared hosting provider told me that if i buy dedicated ip then he can help me setup ssl on my proxy.. so you think its necessary to buy dedicated ip in order to setup ssl on shared hosting a/c?

Buy a domain or something else from namecheap and you get an ssl certificate for free. Best way to get SSL certificate without paying.

exactly thats what i do most of the time.. still some unlimited-hosting providers also provide shared ssl certificates that you could use for lifetime-free-of-cost.
