Will this stuff work too on lxadmin? And is it as easy to add domains etc? Is it just like cPanel but smaller? Has it awstats to it or not?

Bad support sucks indeed, but if your sites are always down it's even worse

The only reason why I suggested FDC... Is because WD resells 'em (or at least, did, last time I knew).

Funny stuff, that vps would crumble with about 10 popular proxies on it, 300? dream on!

6tb of bandwidth for $60?? Yeah right! Plus your going to need alot more than 6tb of bandwidth for 300 proxies. Shit I was using 10tb for 70 or so proxies.

You are at a cross roads here, moving from cheap over sold hosting (which may have once been good, but it always comes to a bitter end) you face two options

Find your own cheap (crap) dedicated server or vps from a really poor company with an awful network with more downtime than uptime, OR bite the bullet and pay what it really costs for this stuff. Most people will spend months and months bouncing around from crap host to crap host in search of that cheap nasty hosting which is acceptable enough to stay with, but in the end they give up. Dont be one of them!

With 300 proxies if done right you could be making an easy $2k a month easy easy easy but it is never going to happen if you go about it like this.

What Ogle said was very correct. I think it pays off to have rock solid hosting specially for proxies, if you have them down at US peak, most of the earnings gone, the typical case with $1 unlimited or $49 dual core providers

Choose a decent data center/provider, I suggest softlayer or limestone. I'd stay away from FDC for proxies as myspace and facebook block FDC IPs time to time. Invest 150-200 in a solid server with 8GB ram and good hardware. Optimize the OS and tweak system - install lxadmin for admin stuff. I guess that would be the best way to go about hosting 300 proxies.

FYI: choopa.com had a great offer in WHT. Check them out. I have used them few years back and their service/network was one of the best I have seen.
