My feelings exactly. It just seems like a waste of space on a lot of blogs, as I doubt anyone actually reads them and it makes the 'page' section look bad ;) lol

I love akismet and All in one SEO pack. Akismet does great job without it my blog would become a scam.
There are so many great plugins. What I would love to hear is if you were to start a new blog tommorrow. You have done your market research, have some content and have activated wordpress and now loading up plugins and content, what plugins (you can list them) do you have to absolutely have before you start driving traffic?
Those are the one I that I remember using, and the most useful.Quote:
Akismet Spam Comments Plugin
All in One SEO Pack

Google XML Sitemaps Generator-
There were more of course and if their name come up into my mind, it'll be my pleasure to tell them to you guys!
(I think there was an adsense one; meant to integrate your ads nicely into your posts)

What about Redirection? It redirects any link you want http://urbangiraffe.com/plugins/redirection/
I have even written a blog post about it:

EDIT: Also, Brian's Threaded Comments gives you a better blog comment section, with favicons and 'reply to this comment' link.
Plugin is here: http://meidell.dk/archives/2004/09/04/nested-comments/
I used the redirection to direct my old links from another platform I had made myself to the posts that were on wordpress. Works perfectly!
Great list everyone.
I will look out for something to contribute...for now you guys have covered my plugins. :D
