Thread: Best WordPress Plugins

  1. Unhappy Best WordPress Plugins

    Heya!

Here is a list of the best Word Press plugins. This list has been made taking into account their need and popularity.

Permalinks Migration Plugin- safely change your permalink structure without breaking the old links to your website or affecting your search engine rankings.

Akismet Spam Comments Plugin- A regular blogger would be knowing how many spam comments they receive each day. Without Akismet it would not be possible to filter spam comments from real comments.

Share This- lets your visitors to add your post to various social bookmarking sites, or send a link via e-mail to a friend.

All in One SEO Pack-To fully optimize your blog for search engines includes Meta Tags for Description, Title, Categories and more.

Popularity Contest- Shows a Popularity percentage score after each post. The percentage is calculated according to a complex algorithm which includes trackbacks, pings, views, traffic and more.

Subscribe To Comments- Allows readers to recieve notifications of new comments that are posted to an entry.

Show Top Commentators- Encourage more discussion from your readers, by displaying their names and number of comments they have made recently to your sidebar.

Google XML Sitemaps Generator- creates a sitemap of all articles on your WordPress blog. Helps Google and other search engines index every article you write.

Any plugin I missed out? Which are your favorites?

    Cheers!

    Awesome list dude.

For my niche blogs, I use the faster IM plugin to catch emails of the visitors and turn them into subscribers (that way you've traffic at will, makes a traffic funnel)

For other generic ones, all these.
Build businesses, not quick money makers.

Platinum SEO is basically the same as All in One SEO with a few more options. I like it better, and the price is the same (free).

    I like:

    WordPress.com Stats

    and

    WPtouch iPhone Theme
Awesome theme for iPhone users. Automatically switches the theme for iphone users

CommentLuv - displays the latest post of the person who's commenting. It's sure to increase your comment count.

Blog Metrics - Has loads of stats all about the amount of posts you've done, how many words, comments, everything really. Even has indepth info about different authors - great for multi author blogs

  6. Oh yes! How could I forget these two. I use them on LS not my other blogs.

I know we have Blog Metrics installed on TBP as I've just been using it

Another one to add to the list is 'Collapsing Categories'. It basically has your categories listed, then you can make them drop down to reveal the names of the posts in that category - it's really cool

Oh, I forgot about the Favicon one. Yeah, that sure is great as I'm not overly keen on messing with code, so to have something to manage the favicon for me is brilliant.

Regarding the PP one, is it good? Is it worth having a privacy policy if you aren't using any PPC programs?

I too have always wondered that. I see many blogs having one now a days. I don't think any of my sites need one though.
