Thread: BuddyPress -- Now Wordpress Compatible

BuddyPress, the social networking software for Wordpress, was originally only compatible with WordPress Mu.

BuddyPress 1.2 just added compatibility with "normal" Wordpress, which creates opportunities for an enormous number of web sites.

Unfortunately, there are almost no existing Wordpress themes which are compatible with BuddyPress. So, the BuddyPress team just released the BuddyPress Template Pack, which helps you modify your existing themes to support BuddyPress.

If you have a WordPress site which receives more than a thousand visitors a day, you should really look into adding community features to it with the new BuddyPress.

designers should at least concider designing buddypress compatible themes now. i'd like to try it

Hadn't come across BuddyPress before but it looks awesome and I need something like it for WordPressMU site I have recommended for a project.

Kinda funny that I find it when you're promoting it for regular WP though

With WP 3.0 WPMU and WP are merged and hence BP can be compatible with WP. also the better part of having BP is the community features as already listed by you.

Theme pack i definitely have to have a look at.
