    Category name in blog post permalink

    Hey. I have a question. Does anyone know how to include the category name in blog post permalink?? Thanks!

    Set your custom permalink to: /%category%/%postname%.html

    I usually use /%postname%
    but if you really want it there use what Will said

    Avoid it Imo! If ever you need to change category permalink .... all the urls will get messed up.

    I concur with stickycarrots and i13. I never use category name in my URL's. My standard is /%postname%.html.

    Best to use just the postname IMO. Best for seo to have content stored closest to root if possible, and no issues with renaming categories etc.

    And I never use the .html part of it.

    %postname% is enough imho.

    Probably for caching purposes. There's really no need to, though.

    Google has had bugs in the past ranking certain extensionless files.

    Plus, I worry about Google confusing files for subdirectory.

    Also, I prefer to reserve the extensionless URL's for categories.

    Or maybe I'm just old and set in my ways.
