I need a way to decode this. It's not the footer links I'm trying to get rid of, but rather the weird things it forces to be in the sidebar, ex. blogroll and categories. I don't want those, but they are apparently being placed into the site by the footer - which is encoded! So, how would I go about decoding this?

Edit: Apparently this can be done using this tool: http://www.tareeinternet.com/scripts/decrypt.php -- I just tested it and it worked. I'll keep this thread here since I suppose this can be useful to someone in the future.

You can decode the footer by viewing the source of the page and then replacing the footer with that code.. then you can edit the code as you want to.

Oh yeah.. some templates put blogrolls and categories in by default. all you need to do is go to the widgets section of the admin and add the blogroll and categories and remove them again and they should go away.

Yeah, typically that's the case - but with this theme, parts of the sidebar were embedded into the encoded piece of code to prevent you from simply removing it.

Is this theme really worth all of the time and effort? Personally, I would never consider using a theme that utilized encoding anywhere in the scripts.

Just add line of some text in front of coded part

reload page

view source

copy everything bellow your test

paste it over the all footer.php

change to fit your needs.
