Hackers put adsense on free wordpress.com blog?

Does wordpress show adsense on the free wordpress.com blogs? I've just noticed ads on my blog with pub-3443918307802676.

This is post about this on Hackers placed adsense on my wordpress.com blog - AdSense Policy Questions | Google Groups

    But still wondering about this?

Nah, its just Wordpress showing some ads on your site. If you google the adsense pub ID, you'll find this:
Visitors clicking to unknown, not provided by me, link « WordPress.com Forums

    which points to this:
    On Ads — Blog — WordPress.com

Somewhere in there is the TOS link of WP that reserves the right to display ads on the free site without notice, etc...
    Cheers,
    James

They say that they try not to show ads to regular readers (Kind of tricky). But it's free.

Yeah, I couldn't find anything that states to what frequency they get displayed, but you can't argue with free

You know. This could be an issue for the site owner using wordpress as their company blog and losing traffic to adsense.

I don't blame Wordpress for posting the ads, But it's kind of sneaky that many blog owners will never know due to the manner they display the ads.

The free blogs are good in a way that the service does the backups and provides the security. Many business owners are using typepad.com, blogspot.com and wordpress.com for these reasons. But losing customers can be costly. So, it would payoff to put the blog in a subfolder and put someone in the office in charge of checking it from time to time to make sure it hasn't been hacked. There's free backup plugins for wordpress. So the backup shouldn't be an issue.

hmmm wow that's interesting. I'd imagine it wouldn't be very productive considering google would promptly close the account?
