How to Use Wordpress to Write a Book

Writing a book is hard, however, if you consider the amount of time you spend writing blog posts, using Wordpress to write a book makes a lot of sense. Check out my post on it:

Basically you can use posts as "chapters" and it allows for easy access. Plus you can use the private feature to hide them from visitors if you wish.

Would you ever use Wordpress to author a book? I'm currently trying it out with my memoir. (http://www.outstandingwriter.com/book)

With what you said about separate documents, there are still other benefits of using wordpress.

    • easy feedback
    • viral marketing
    • easy editing

I dunno about you, but I'd much rather hit the "edit" button then continuously open and close documents.

I have to agree with Corey, this is very simple and a great time saver.

And Corey, I must say I am loving Outstanding Writer.

Has anybody else tried using Wordpress to write a novel or some kind of print writing project?

    Hi Corey,
I am currently trying to do this and finding information on how to hard to find. Are you still doing this? Your links are not working.
Would love to get a status update on this.
    Thanks.

I was thinking about doing this after I came across a blogger that did it the other way around i.e. wrote a lot of blog posts before the blog was created, then drip fed the posts at a fast rate to the blog, published a book containing the blog posts and then deleted the blog.

Seems like a good idea for some subjects

Could you please update the link indeed? Thanks

Ha ha, the blog and the book have disappeared from the web now. I bought the book from I think Lulu.com

The person was a notorious character called James B. who was very single-minded in the pursuit of profit to the tune of $160K per month according to an interview that I watched.

I'm seeing Robert Plank emulate some of this guy's teachings now such as how to be very efficient at producing original web content.
